Celebration of Life for Dr. Johari M. Amini-Hudson

Dear Friends,

Our dear sister Dr. Johari M. Amini-Hudson made her transition on December 12th, 2023. Thanks to everyone who joined us in celebrating her life in January 2024.

Johari was a founder of Third World Press (est.1967) and the Institute of Positive Education (est.1969). Johari was a gifted poet and contributor to the Black Arts Movement, especially in Chicago. Johari also went on to become a chiropractor.

The community, along with her family and friends celebrated Johari’s wonderful life of creativity and giving on Saturday, January 6, 2024, starting at 12 noon through 4 PM.

The memorial was held at the campus of the Betty Shabazz International Charter School, a project of the Institute of Positive Education, 7823 S.Ellis Ave, Chicago, IL 60619.
